STARS Final Event Held in Brussels

Final event of STARS project and its twin project reStartSMEs was held on 26th of September in the European Committee of regions in Brussels.

The two projects were pilot initiative of the European Union to introduce advanced technologies to more traditional SMEs, through connecting traditional SMEs with tech-savvy SMEs and encouraging the uptake of advanced technologies in order to address challenges these companies face, open new business opportunities and improve their organization, making them more competitive in the global market and preparing them for the future technological market demands and trends.

Two projects presented their methodologies, experiences and results in transfer of advanced technologies to traditional SMEs through Strategic Alliances, and have also presented the policy proposals to the EU based on their experiences and lessons learned during the two-year period. The necessity for further support, both financial and non-financial is seen as crucial, and should be at the center of future EU policies in order to ensure the uptake of advanced technologies in the traditional industry.
