1st ZIRP Youth conference
The conference was organized by the Faculty of Transport and Traffic Sciences, University of Zagreb together with more than 20 partners, co-organizers and sponsors, in the premises of the Amadria Park congress center in Šibenik. Students at the conference also participated within the activities of the project Improvement and implementation of professional practice at the Faculty of Transport and Traffic Sciences (PRISTUP FPZ). The ZIRP Youth conference brought together 18 students from the Faculty of Transport and Traffic Sciences, University of Zagreb, Faculty of Technical Sciences, University of Novi Sad and the Polytechnic of Šibenik. Also, in the conference participated more than 20 scientists and researchers from several institutions. The conference was organized in a hybrid mode, and a couple of participants followed the conference online.
The main theme of this year”s ZIRP Youth Conference was Mobility, with topics ranging from future sustainable urban mobility to electric vehicles, with a focus on new solutions and ideas provided by students. A total of 5 papers have been accepted for publication in the proceedings of papers titled Proceedings of ZIRP Youth.
The official opening of the conference began with opening speeches given by the head of the organizing committee of ZIRP Youth, Tomislav Erdelić, Ph.D, president of the student body of the Faculty of Transport and Traffic Sciences, Marko Bošnjak, mag. ing. aeronaut., and vice dean for science and external cooperation of the Faculty of Transport and Traffic Sciences, assoc. prof. Marko Šoštarić, Ph.D., new Dean of the Faculty of Transport and Traffic Sciences.
Following the official opening, students presented their works, and after the presentations, a student panel discussion, Mobility yesterday, today and tomorrow, was held.
