Škoda begins manufacture of trams in MIND Park in Kragujevac
„Škoda“ company is beginning to manufacture trams in MIND Park in Kragujevac. The plan is to manufacture traction engines and engineering, leading to manufacture of complete trams for byers in Central and Eastern Europe, as well as for other procurers throughout Europe.

“We have been very successful in creating new contracts in the Balkans for a long time, and even now we participate in several tenders for new trams and trolleybuses. We have a high regard for knowledge and experience of MIND group in the field of rolling stock manufacture, which can provide us with good production capacities for the export and the region. Apart from the increase in manufacturing capacities of ‘Škoda Transportation’ directly in the region where the vehicles will be delivered, this cooperation also contributes to the reduction in greenhouse gas emissions in Škoda’s vehicles” says Zdenek Majer, vice-president and member of the management board of “Škoda Transportation” group.
The products of Škoda Transportation company mainly include low-floor trams, electrical locomotives, suburban train units, metro trains, electrical cars and trolleybuses.
Czech manufacturer also counts on the possible production of trams for Belgrade, keeping in mind that the city is planning a large renewal of its vehicles.
„Škoda Transportation“, part of the PPF group, is one of the largest Europan manufacurers of vehicles for railway and public transportation.
