Construction Commences on Intermodal Terminal in Batajnica
Construction of intermodal terminal commenced in Batajnica. This project is conducted under the IPA 2015 program, with total value of 15.5 mil EUR, while the procurement of equipment and technical support to the operator, worth 2.9 mil EUR, will be financed from the state budget, according to the Ministry of Construction.
Contract on project supervision was signed on August 26, 2019 with Eptisa company, worth 675,000 EUR, while the contract for the construction of the terminal, worth 15,469,299.75 EUR was granted to Strabag company on October 14, 2019.
The investor, Belgrade Land Development Public Agency, stated that the complex of 10 hectares will have thee kilometers of road and railway infrastructure. A container terminal will be constructed over two hectares, five hectares will remain as open space and green areas. The project also includes construction of 70 parking spaces.
Public procurement procedure for the related equipment will be opened during the construction of the intermodal terminal.
Plan is for the construction of logistics center next to the terminal, for logistical tasks connected to road and rail transport, such as freight forwarding and customs procedures, with storage and maintenance services.
Deadline is 30 months from the beginning of the construction works, including the additional 12 months for reclamation procedure.
